About The Florist
The Florist has been the eyes, ears and voice for the flower industry since 1949.
Can’t decide whether to wire or glue your corsages? Need some marketing advice for your unique business? How about picking up totally saleable design inspiration plus info about the latest products and varieties to hit the market?
Produced by a team with years of industry experience, The Florist aims to inspire and inform with a mix of in-depth business features, fabulous design ideas and all the latest industry news.
The UK’s leading trade magazine for florists started life as Florist & Landscape Gardener back when Constance Spry was doing flowers for the Queen and floral foam was simply a figment of Mr Smithers’ imagination.
Later, you may have known us as Florist & Wholesale Buyer until we slicked back to The Florist (but still very much here for our wholesalers!), producing three new look issues in 2013. Since then we’ve been focussing on our digital platform, theflorist.co.uk, where you’ll find the same great magazine content alongside up-to-date industry news, making it a one-stop reference tool for anyone serious about the business of floristry.
Who are we?
The Florist is produced by Purple Spotted Media, a communications company passionately dedicated to all things floral, led by long-term industry guru and Editor Caroline Marshall-Foster
In addition to publishing The Florist, Purple Spotted have been responsible for co-ordinating the UK promotion for a number of different ‘flower’ accounts including Stars for Europe (Poinsettias) and Colombian Flowers.

Although we sell advertising in order to pay our bills and keep the magazine going we only write or send information about things we think could benefit our reader’s businesses. However our database is more secure than Fort Knox and we will never sell your details … its all between you and us.
