Full time contracts manager required at Paul Thomas Flowers, Battersea

Founded in 1989, Paul Thomas Flowers has established itself as one of the UK’s foremost floral designers. We have decorated some of the most glittering parties and weddings of the last three decades, all over the world. Our Battersea-based boutique creates luxury hand-tied bouquets and bespoke arrangements available to order by our discerning customers.

At the very core of our business is the provision of weekly contract flowers to leading London hotels, businesses and private homes. Current contracts include the Ritz, Fortnum & Mason, and Sotheby’s.
The role of Contracts Manager is of vital importance to the company and is a rare, exciting opportunity to become an integral part of our talented team.
This is a Monday-Friday, hands-on operational role that demands creative/conceptual input to ensure that Paul Thomas Flowers continue to offer their clients the best possible product and service.
As part of the management team, this person will work closely with the business owner Paul, the General Manager and other department managers.

Designing the installations for the weekly contracts, working to client briefs and budgets whilst carefully considering the business’ desired profit margins
Calculating volumes of flowers and foliage required on a weekly basis, ordering and buying from market. A good working relationship with the market suppliers is important to ensure that the business receives the best product, price and service
Coordinating staffing and logistics for weekly contract rounds and maintenance service. The Contracts Manager should also regularly go out on the delivery and maintenance rounds to get to know the clients and build strong, long-lasting relationships
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all clients, keeping in touch on a regular basis in the form of quarterly business reviews as a minimum
On-boarding new clients – organising and attending site visits, producing visual proposals and quotes, following up with potential clients to close the deal, issuing all relevant paperwork in order to set clients up on the system
Identify new business opportunities and target clients. Bringing in new contracts business on a regular basis is a key aspect of this role. As a part of this, you will be expected to work on business development strategy, produce marketing collateral and work on new business tenders
Creating concepts and quoting for Christmas installations as well as managing the staffing and logistics for these installations (and subsequent clears)
Organising regular photo shoots of contract work to produce collateral that can be used for the website, in proposals and tenders, on social media and for general marketing purposes

Be an experienced senior florist with a background in providing corporate and high-end floristry
Possess a strong grasp of the commercial side of floristry
Have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to relationship management and business development
Possess exceptional communication skills and be highly confident in client-facing situations
Be eager to take creative inspiration from outside the world of floristry into the world of art, fashion, interior design and set design

This is a full time position with a highly competitive salary. Start date April 2017
